Getting back into the swing of things.

It has been too long since I have dabbled with Game Development; Over the past few years, I have neglected doing any kind of Game Design or development.  When I moved to Edinburgh from Dundee I ended up getting a job outside the games industry and everything else took a back seat.

I have since found myself wanting to get back into it and maybe put my degree to good use and start a career in Game Design (fingers crossed).

I recently moved home to Armagh and have decided that in my spare time I will get back up to speed with some stuff by tinkering about with Unity and possibly some Unreal Engine like the good old days, as well keeping a wee blog to record my progress and hopefully keep myself motivated in the process.

I will start by following some tutorials from the book "Unity 3.x Game Development Essentials" (Shown below):  link

In the coming weeks I also intend to get back to doing some (light) 3D modelling and texturing, maybe even some animation type stuff.

On the Design front, I have started to read and reread the Game Design theory and guide books that I have and jotting down ideas more often as well as getting back into the habit of playing games with a more analytical eye.  I was thinking of maybe writing up some game design analysis on some of the games I am playing, or maybe even making a Youtube series (up in the air currently).  Some of the books I am currently making my way through are:

On top of all this, I have been trying to stream some games and maybe even kick off my twitch channel somewhat (this is much more difficult that I initially imagined).  If you would be interested in watching me be bad at games feel free to check out my channel at https://www.twitch.tv/annihilasean.

At the minute I am not sure how frequent this blog will be, but I am going to try and make a weekly post with hopefully some progress to show off.  Now onwards to mess about in Unity, ttyl.

GG.
